Frequently Asked Questions

1. How will you coordinate with my other healthcare providers?

If you would like us to collaborate with your therapist, primary care provider, or other specialists, we are happy to do so. With your written consent, we can share treatment updates, medication lists, and relevant clinical information to ensure you receive comprehensive, coordinated care.

2. How will we track my progress over time?

We monitor progress using a combination of symptom discussion, functioning, sleep, mood changes, medication response, and—when helpful—standardized rating scales. We will regularly review what’s working, what’s not, and adjust treatment together as needed.

3. What should I do if my symptoms change between appointments?

If you experience new or worsening symptoms, side-effects, or other concerns, please send a message through the patient portal. We typically respond within one business day. If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

4. Can I get a copy of my medical records?

Yes. You may request a copy of your records or a summary of care at any time. Simply send a message through the patient portal, and we will provide instructions for completing an authorization form.

5. What if I want a second opinion?

You are welcome to seek a second opinion at any point in your treatment. We support you in making informed decisions and can provide referrals or relevant medical information upon request.

6. Do you offer or recommend non-medication treatment options?

Absolutely. While medications can be helpful for many patients, we also discuss therapy, lifestyle changes, sleep hygiene, exercise, nutrition, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches. When appropriate, we can provide referrals to trusted therapists and specialists.

7. How long will I need treatment?

Treatment duration varies by individual. Some people need short-term care, while others benefit from longer-term management. We will discuss your goals and continually evaluate your progress to determine the safest, most effective plan.

8. What if I move out of New York?

We are licensed to provide treatment only to patients physically located in New York State. If you move or spend significant time outside NY, we can help transition your care to a provider in your new location.

9. Do you offer sliding-scale fees or payment plans?

At this time, we do not offer sliding-scale pricing. However, we can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement and are happy to help you understand how to submit claims through your insurance plan.

10. How do you protect my privacy and confidentiality?

We follow all HIPAA guidelines and use secure, encrypted platforms for communication and telepsychiatry visits. Your personal information, records, and session details are kept strictly confidential except when required by law or with your explicit written permission.
